What is the Mobex?

What is the Mobex virtual phone system and how can it help my business?

The Mobex Virtual PBX was designed for all those who either “bring your own device to work” (BYOD) or are entrepreneurs/ small business owners who run much of their companies communication’s from their smartphones. The Virtual PBX works with either a Mobex smart phone app or forwarding to the user’s cell.

With a local or toll free number, unlimited extensions, live call forwarding, on hold music, name directory, and much more, your  business can function and appear like a Fortune 500 company. When callers dial your Mobex number, they hear a custom main greeting giving them options from which to choose, i.e. “Thank you for calling MY Company, dial 1 for sales, 2 for support, etc.”

Since each extension rings on an app on your smart phone, or forwarded to your cell phone, you can be reached on your home, office, or on the road. Assign extensions to each department or employee and connect callers to the right employees. Give callers access to information such as product info, store hours or driving directions using Informational Extensions. You can also receive voicemails and faxes online or via email as audio or picture attachments. With these powerful features available from Mobex your small business can stay connected and sound more professional.

The Virtual PBX is also designed to replace, or work in conjunction with, a desk top phone. Use this as a standalone service if your smartphone is your office; or, include this with a desk-top Hosted PBX service with seamless integration.

Can I use your service if I live in Canada or other countries besides the U.S.?
Yes, Mobex works in both Canada and the U.S. In addition we have local numbers in over 65 countries around the world.
Does Mobex require a contract?
No, Mobex is a month-to-month phone service that does not require you to have any long term contract.
Do you offer service for International Callers?
Yes, this feature is included in all plans but turned off by default to avoid fraud and unauthorized use. For rates to all countries and to active this feature, please call Mobex Support at 855-506-6239 or email your request to support@mobex.biz
Can I request a specific (vanity) phone number?
Yes you may.
Can I buy an 800 number from another company and use it with Mobex?
As always, you can transfer any toll free number to Mobex, but please allow up to three (3) weeks for transferring, though most numbers transfer in as little as five business days.
Can I transfer my existing toll free or local number to your service? What is the fee?
Yes you can. We can arrange to have any of your existing local or toll free number(s) easily transferred to us. Please remember, you are only changing service providers, you will still retain ownership of your number(s).
There is, at this time, no fee for transferring service.
Who owns the numbers that are assigned to me by Mobex and can I transfer them?
You are the valid end user/owner of a toll free and a local number as long as you are in good standing with its provider (i.e., there are no balances on your account). You are able to transfer both your toll free and local number to other providers at any time including the numbers that are assigned to you by Mobex.
Can I have multiple toll free or local numbers on the same account?
Yes, you may add additional numbers to your account at any time. Each additional local number not included in your plan is just $1 more per month. Each additional toll free number not included in your plan is just $5 more per month.
With a Virtual PBX how do I distinguish incoming business calls from my personal phone calls?
Your personal calls ring in on your normal cell phone dialer as they always have. Your Mobex business calls will ring in on the Mobex app. Likewise, when you make outgoing calls, the party you call will see the Caller ID of your business account, NOT your personal cell phone number.
When I call people from my Mobex app, what Caller ID will the see?
The party you call will see the Caller ID of your business account, NOT your cell phone number.
Do I have to record the greetings in my own voice?
No you do not. Your greetings are initially recorded by Mobex. However, you may change them at any time. In addition to recording greetings by phone or uploading them from your computer we also offer professional voice talent services. Sounding professional is easy when you have your greetings and prompts recorded by our Voice Studio.
What are Ring Groups?
You may assign a group of people to have their extensions ring either at the same time or sequentially. For example you may have a greeting that says “For sales press 1” and when the caller enters 1 your entire sales department can have their phones ring at the exact same time, or one at a time until someone is available to answer the call. 
What are Informational Extensions?
Informational Extensions let you give callers up-to-date information about your company, products and services through sub-extensions. You can use Informational Extensions to play recorded info about your company, allowing callers instant access to important information 24/7. It’s a great place for customers to hear store directions, product descriptions, or your hours of operation.
